ABOUT
Japanese American Youth Alliance
Japanese American Youth Alliance (JAYA) was made with the dream of uniting and empowering young Japanese Americans throughout Northern California. The Japanese American people hold a strong history throughout this region with a long-standing commitment to building our communities through agriculture, local businesses/nihonmachis, and even participating in government offices. JAYA hopes to expand this history by constructing strong bonds within the greater Japanese American youth and laying a foundation for our community to thrive in the decades to come. JAYA prioritizes events with a social, cultural, and professional focus to achieve this goal. In our starting months, we will focus on creating forums to increase communication between a wide variety of Japanese American organizations throughout the Northern California region. We will also provide opportunities for members to meet and interact during major conventions as well as frequent meetings amongst community leaders. JAYA also helps to provide a voice to local Japanese American organizations to spread news about upcoming events and opportunities. We created this organization to invest in the future of the Japanese American community and we thank you all for your interest in this dream.
