Join us for a critical conversation about how we, as the Bay Area Japanese American (JA) community, can organize, educate, and take action against mass detention and deportation targeting immigrant communities. This is about more than remembering history—it’s about using our shared experiences to fight back against injustice today.
We’ll hear from directly-impacted community leaders, learn about the work of local and national partners, and lay out a clear action plan for how we can stand in solidarity and resist.
Building on the momentum from the Bay Area Day of Remembrance, this gathering will focus on real steps we can take to protect immigrant communities and push back against Trump’s plans for family detention sites. We’ll connect the dots between past and present, from the Alien Enemies Act of 1798 to today’s policies targeting marginalized communities. This will also be a space to reflect on our collective legacy of resistance and build deeper connections.
Now is the time to show up for each other. Mass incarceration and family separation were wrong then, and they’re wrong now. Never again is NOW!
